Sam and Jess get ready for their first multi-night (more than 2), adult only vacation since Maddie was born.
It was also the first road trip for the EV.
Which had a lot of bonuses and minuses, it turned out. One bonus - because of a deal with Electrify America and Hyundai - all charging at those stations was free (or at least should have been - one negative was a lot of charging stations turned out to have some type of issue).
On the way to Marshall - the duo passed thru San Rafael, where Kears and Todd used to live and spent many days hosting the fam for both fun and the many surgeries and doctor's visits for Maddie's ear. They felt sentimental.
After a much longer drive up then planned because of the above noted negatives (along with some added EV charging time Jess had not accounted for), they arrived in Marshall/Tomales Bay just in time for dinner. It was gorgeous.
