The Scrapper Is A Cheap Date

While Maddie loves a full brunch out on the weekends, Max is very happy with a donut and a Sunny D from Dad's Donuts.  A special stop was made before school to help temper the agony of going to school every day while his sister stayed at home with Covid.

Slappy Gets Out Of Quarantine

Her first family dinner inside, mask off in 9 days.  Although sadly, she stayed in quarantine one more day after this due to the tiniest light line in the am after testing negative the night before.

The sore throat/fever/headache did not stop her from enjoying a take out lunch in quarantine.

And after learning from Auntie Jamie that insurance covered 8 covid tests per person, the fam was ready to go.

As he didn't know if either one of his parents could make it, he grabbed school lunch.  Then he also got supermarket sushi, Gushers, Takis and Gatorade from Jess. 

The Scrapper Lodges A Formal Complaint

This year, there was a rule instated that if any kid came home with below a B-, a no-electronics policy was put into effect.

Max was very not happy about it.

Madd Max Has The New Round Of Foster Kittens

These incredibly charming tabby brothers who spent the week before heading back to the shelter.  The fam called them, "The Little One," "The Big One," and "The Other One." (Although really, The Big One and The Other One were very hard to tell apart).

Madd Max Has Temp Foster Kittens

The shelter called asking if the fam could take them for a week.  They would be ready for adoption in about a week and half, but rather then keep them in the shelter, the med tech requested they get some TLC because they were so friendly that every time she picked them up, they purred.

She was very right.

Madd Max Head To 8th Grade

Max decided he wanted to join - and not just for the icee at the end.

Doing Dozee proud in his Computer Science Coding class.

His English teacher did something very interesting.  He had all the kids in his classes anonymously write something they wished their parents knew and put them up on the board.

Jess is pretty sure she found Max's.

"I wish my parents knew that a lot of this class has homework that can be completed in the classroom."

Which during a heat wave, is a big deal.  Although it was so hot out, that a lot of the day was still spent inside.  The pool was body temperature, which Jess loved although did admit it was a little warm.

With 3 birthdays to be celebrated, Caroline, John and Max, Marissa brought over some cakes to be decorated by each family.

Slappy Runs Cross Country

While their first meet was cancelled due to the extreme heat wave, members of the team could run in the meet in a non-school affiliated race.  

After a 5:30am drop-off, Maddie ran her first race.
