Madd Max Head To Vegas

For Maddie's birthday, she didn't want presents from her parents; she wanted an experience.  She was given 7 to chose from.  One of then was an overnight in Vegas, and the girl loves Vegas.

After settling into the hotel, the fam headed out into the 116 degree weather for a poolside lunch.  Here, she is being forced to pretend she loves the ridicously overpriced California roll she begged for and was underwhelming.

It was so hot that Jess burned a little skin off the bottom of her foot, and Sam read briefly like this.

Mandalay Bay, because they have a wave pool and lazy river.

Maddie also brought $1 to gamble after a lot of consideration of if it should be 1 or 5.  Jess ended up winning her 1 additional dollar, so she did leave Vegas ahead.

A stop at the Bellagio's flowers.

Madd wanted insta photos, but deemed them all not right.
Looking out over the Eiffel Tower.

The perfect dinner on a day where even the breeze is hot - ramen!

Then, over to "O," which is one of Jess' favorite theatrical shows she's ever seen (she saw it 20 years ago and it was just as exciting this time).
Hotel chillin'.

Madd Max Has A Reseda Kender Day

Hanging with Chase as he cruises around the place.

Last dinner before they move into their own place.
Playing Portal with Tio Greg before bed.

The Scrapper Conditions

Down at Will Rogers State Park.
With a bunch of the guys from the V and JV teams.  It was an hour and a half, and he threw up once.  The older guys told him it would get easier.  Sports, man.

Madd Max Gets New Cali Family

Arriving at 2:30am, after cancelled and delayed flights, didn't do nothing to the cheeriness of Chase.

Who moved out with Tia Jess and Tio Greg - permanently!  And had their first In-n-Out as Cali residents.

And first of many family dinners.

The Scrapper Preps For JV Hockey

With a new helmet and stick.
This one is much lighter.  Max wanted to test it out immediately.

Madd Max Are Feeling LA Summer

And Aarin making pizzas.

90 degree temps and a Findley pool.

Madd Max Heads Back To The Airport

Max did get a heavy rain for his last morning waking up on the screened-in porch.
And then it was back to Boston-Logan, and real life.

Madd Max Has A Last New Hampshire Day

Uncle David took the cousins to North Conway for an escape room.
Followed ice cream and mini golf.
Classic shot.
After dinner, a last round of Apples to Apples.
And blueberry crisp.
Followed by, of course, a final Jackbox.

Madd Max Has A Last White Gates Pizza

Pretty pizzas.
More live music in the background.
C'mon,  look at that view.
Texas Hold'em with clovers as currency.
Followed by some serious Boggle.

The Scrapper Goes Fishing

Even practicing at the dock without a hook, he was excited.
Because this little sunfish kept going after his lure.
Simon also loves fishing.  The boys went out for 2 hours and caught 6 fish (2 for Simon and 4 for Max).  None were big enough to keep.  That did not, in any way, tamper the joy.
Jess got in the inner tube, and spent an hour and a half in the water with the girls.
Rounding out the night with another dinner at Public House on Page Hill.

Madd Max Has A Sunny Day

Which meant swimming.

Even Jess stuck her foot in.  Even better, she got into the inner tube and Simon pulled her and her gimpy foot around the lake on the paddle board.
Dinner on the porch.
Followed by some night swimming - this is at 8:30pm.
After many attempts, they did it!

Madd Max Celebrates the 4th

At the Tamworth Parade.
Classic Americana.
Which included candy thrown out the windows of the parade vehicles passing by.
Afterwards, the town held a festival, which included baby goats, live music, a crafts fair, games and food trucks.
Along with ominous clouds.
This creek is a favorite hang out spot after ice cream.
Normally, it looks like this. Currently, all those rocks are underwater and it is very fast.
This puddle is also the beginning of a trail right by the house.
And this... is the dock floating away.  It is supposed to be at the bottom of the handrail on the right.
