Madd Max Break A Hundo

On the vet's scale.  They were quite pleased.

Madd Max Gets A Kitten

 The last pix Jess took of Oscar before his world turned upside down.  He clearly knows something very not cool is up.

 The fam saw this 8-9 week old kitten in one of the Burbank Animal Shelter cages.  She was with her mom and 2 siblings, playing happily.  The fam spent about 45 min with her in this room as she warmed up quickly and began playing with the kids.

 The decision is made.

 And the bathroom - where we all hang out (Jess is in the shower).

 The kitten showed off her socialization skillz, by settling down with Max. 

Later, she got moved into Max's room because she seemed ready for more space than anticipated.  After setting her up with a little bed on a low shelf, Sam checked in to make sure things were good before bed.  After seeing this, he came out and told Jess, "We may have picked the right kitten."

Madd Max Has A Last Morning

And a discussion with Max on why we should probably stay at Chocorua longer, or possibly even live there. "There is a water supply, a food supply and a barn." (The food being blueberries, blackberries and sugar snap peas, of course).

Besides Apples to Apples, the barn swing was the other favorite activity of the week for all the kids.

Madd Max Camps Out

At Aunt Rachel and Uncle David's, where Max got to do one of his favorite things - get the eggs from the chickens.

Dinner al fresco, complete with a distraught Max who got a second gnat in his eye, and felt very much that he was not getting the sympathy that was deserved for such a plight.  (The first gnat went in and was found the next morning in the corner of his eye, complete with blood trail - this marking one of Jess' top gross parenting moments).

The girls worked on gathering toads.  First, "Taco Bell" and then a focus on "Destiny."

Gwen's scientific record of everything they knew about Destiny, the toad.

Meanwhile, the boys, particularly Simon worked on their clubhouse, or cuzhouse as Maddie called it.

Pretty neat.
