It was Jess' first time traveling with both kids by herself, and the morning seemed to not bode well. After getting on the first flight, and feeling proud that Max sat across the aisle and made friends with a stranger (they read books together), the plane got stuck at the gate for 45 minutes. And then everyone got off. Then the fam stood in line for 45 min with Jess on the phone trying to get a flight. Then the fam left the gate area and rechecked in. And rewent through security. And waited for another 2 hours.
All of which turned out to be the worst part of the day. Max is now old enough to not open the DVD player and then complain about his movie ending. Both kids were actually well behaved enough that Jess read an article in Vanity Fair, and those aren't short.
Even during a layover, they kept themselves entertained.
