Every 3 months, Maddie has to travel to Palo Alto to get her ear cleaned. This involves a 6.5 hour drive, and a doctor's visit, something that still gets her very nervous. This picture is taken at a rest stop along the long drive. See how happy she is? That is because this trip always ends with an overnight at Maya and Dexter's. This go-round, upon learning that she had a doctor's appointment, she replied, "I get another vacation! I'm so lucky!" That's what having great friends can do - turn an arduous drive and a scary appointment into something to look forward to.
