It was almost balmy by East Coast Standards, so we headed to the local park with Auntie Kerri and Smooth Andre.
Max took the time to grab a micro-nap while Taisie kept his face out of the sun.
Later that evening, Sam and Jess prepared for an adult evening out. All seemed quiet. Maddie was happily playing.
Max was micro-napping again.
Sam, Jess, Kerri and Derek enjoyed a meal, drinks, adult conversation, and no cutting of their dining partners' food.
When they arrived back home, only the bedroom lights were on. Jess and Sam were surprised but pleased that the house was asleep. But it was not so. When they opened the door, Grandpa Toby entered from the living room carrying Max. After an easy bedtime with Maddie, Max had decided to test his grandparents love, by only sleeping when carried by Grandpa Toby and crying the rest of the time. They passed the test, when they still smiled at him as they handed him back over to his parents.
