Madd Max Has A Last Anniversary Day

View of the cabin.
Now for 20 more!
While the cabin part of the island was sunny, the town side was showing off it's best Stephen King foggy Maine.
Complete with lobster truck.
RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) -ing the foot on the ferry.
Maine knows it's brand.
Noodle dinner in Portland, before a stop at Trader Joe's for some groceries.  It was a fantastic trip with even more fantastic company.

Slappy Is Employed

Gwen and Maddie both got jobs as ushers (and concessions) at The Barnstormers, the summer stock theatre where both Sam and Aunt Rachel worked throughout their high school summers.  This is where Sam developed his love for theatre that ultimately landed him at Carnegie Mellon.
Taisie put together this photo compilation, "Cousins - first year to first job."
There was also some biking down to Grove Beach for wading, even though the water was very cold.

Madd Max Heads To North Haven

The dock from Vinalhaven to North Haven.  That's North Haven in the distance.
Dinner dinghy.
The Turner Farm Barn Supper was the anchor for planning the entire trip.
And it did not disappoint.
Jess got seated at a bear plate, very California.
Cocktail menu - very pretty.
Husband with cocktail - very handsome.
Apps.
And the dinner menu.  The entire thing was awesome.

Madd Max Has A Maine Island Day

Breakfast on the patio with a little light reading, Auntie Kerri's book, Anti-Blackness at School, Creating Affirming Educational Spaces for African American Students (it was a great read).
More breakfast relaxing.
The private rocky beach area just below the cabin, also a great spot for reading.
A stop in downtown Vinalhaven to pick up some lunch charcuterie, which included local goat cheese.
Lobster traps, classic Maine.
That's a sweet lunch spot and spread (and husband).

Madd Max Hikes Black Cap Mountain

Hike snacks prepped.
Mid-hike.
Hike toad.  These little guys are everywhere.
Where they're headed.
Success!
A proper way to celebrate a good hike.
This girl gives good face.
