Madd Max Visit Chinatown

Maddie does not eat breakfast burritos.  Dozee made her a special one - full of Lucky Charms.
Mimi had read an article on the restaurants that had recently opened in Chinatown, so the fam headed down to try them.  Maddie loved all the shops.
While waiting for food, Dozee paid for a ride on this.  They fit so well.
Some Taiwanese street food.

Madd Max Hang With Their Grandparents

Early morning lego building.
Mimi took Madd to the Farmers Market - she returned with these.
Her loft bed was also removed in anticipation of her room redo.
Next up, lunch with Great Uncle Chris and Gabriel.
Super Smashing it.

Madd Max See Dozee and Mimi Again

Mimi decided that for the year, she will be visiting Jess and Uncle Wills, alternating months.  This was CA's turn.  Which meant lemon cream pie from Chili Johns.
And breakfast burritos from Corner Cottage, along with fresh squeezed juice from Portos.
Yum.

Madd Max Have What They Think Is A Last Leonia Hang

Dozee's trains in the attic.
Cuz swing hang.
Girl cuz swing hang.
Chats btwn the eldest and the youngest family members.

Madd Max Head To The Little Island

A new park that floats over the Hudson River.
This architecture is delightful.
Munching food from the Halal truck on the lawn.
And after a walk thru of Chelsea Market (Maddie was smitten), some ice cream from the truck.  A pretty great day.

Madd Max Hit The Van Gogh Exhibit

The Immersive Experience.  With the Vielot-Gonzalezs (minus Mateo who was at sleep away camp).
Sunflowers.
All around.
Multiples.
Of many,
Many kids.
Pretty cool.

Madd Max Visit Central Park

After seeing Central Park in multiple movies, Maddie requested a visit.
She said it was deifnitely worth the morning wake up.  Jess was super excited for the kids to try a NY pretzel, which she got from one of the park venders.  The kids were not impressed, as it turned out Jess had purchased a very mediocre, slightly stale pretzel and tasted all her childhood memories disappear.
By the fountain, where Elizabeth has played her ukulele and made $50.  This inspired Max to suggest that he learn a song to play with Elizabeth - a ukulele/flute duet...
The water is full of turtles that were getting fed bread.
Full of turtles.

Madd Max Heads To The Boardwalk Again

Some pre-beach funnel cake.
This round - some actual beach time.
Sonia collected shells.
Max and Aiden got all up in the cold, cold water for about an hour.
Perfect Jersey pizza and corn dogs to regain energy.
Per Sonia's request - a last go on the swings.
Per Maddie's request - round 2 on the roller coaster with her uncles.  Aiden sat this round out after having gotten his fill on round 1.
Understandable.
And finally, the storm that Sam and Jess had been waiting for brought on by Hurricane Elsa.  There were streaks of lightening that flashed across the sky and torrential rain which lasted half of the drive back from the shore and thru some porch time.

Madd Max Dines Together

The post-canoe meal, starting with apps from the Tropicana's restaurant, Carmine's.  How much more Jersey can you get?
One eats Jersey corn as one must.

Madd Max Canoes The Pine Barrens

In the bus that takes the canoes (and the people) upriver.
Ready for the Wading River.
Also ready.
Sonia was Jess' canoe partner.  They called themselves, per Sonia's choice, "The Kareful Keepers."
Kenders Kanoeing.
Lunch break.
Tea river.
Mimi always makes a lunch for the trip, which consists of sandwiches, veggies, chips and gorp (nuts, raisins and m&ms).
These sub sandwiches.
Splash fight.
Followed by river jumping.
