Madd Max Enjoys a Scavenger Hunt

All in on her Easter basket.

All in but at a slower pace on his. 

 

This time the clues rhymed.

Maddie found these clues very easy and enjoyable, as she felt they were written in the same style of prose as her own writing.

This time the kids wrote a few clues for each other.

 

A Sam original.

"It's not so clean and not so neat, this is where unwanted refuge meets defeat.  One side rots forever, sealed in gloom, the other finds hope, a second bloom." 

A Max original.

"Under underwear where but not under where underwear."

Madd Max Has A One Shot

Madd Max have been looking forward to this one shot with Tio Greg for months, as have Izze, Seth, Fiona and Elizabeth.

Which meant Sam, Jess and Chase got to spend some quality time at the grocery store.  Memories of what used to be......

Tio Greg is a great DM.  The kids had a blast.

Like taking the fam to Maddie's favorite diner, the Coral Cafe.

 

And for Max's part, taking the fam to Pickwick.

 

For ice skating for all levels.

Madd Max Heads South

 

En route to NJ, Jess stopped by Brown to take Maddie out to breakfast.  This was the first spot Auntie Kerri took Jess out to breakfast in RI, many moons ago - Brickway on Wickenden.

Jess then got a campus tour.

Before leaving, Jess fit in a cousin lunch as well.

 

Back in NH, Sam, Max and Simon went skating.

And Jess landed in NJ in time for dinner with her friend, Larie, who brought this photo from 1993.

Madd Max Has Different Experiences With States Of Water

Day 1 at Brown began with a rough start, ie a flooded bathroom.

Luckily, there was breakfast with a cousin. 

 

Meanwhile, Max and Sam took Simon out on the ice. 

While Taisie hammered some ice at home - one does what one must for a mojito.

And the girls were missed at dinner.

The morning began with the traditional mother/daughter breakfast, this time at Another Broken Egg Cafe.

Followed by Easter baskets.

Madd Max Skates On Heron Pond

This trip came out of Max's deep desire for the past few years to skate on the lake.

 

The ice on Lake Chocorua was deemed not to be the best, so the fam headed over to Heron Pond, where Max finally got his wish.

After all of the morning's activities, it was time to head the house for a microwaved lunch.

Warming up by the wood stove.

 

Max rounded out the day at a new sledding spot.  Maddie was very excited to have experienced "natural snow."

Madd Max Has A One Shot

Tio Greg came over to Dungeon Master a one shot game for the group - MEME gang with an added Izzy and Fiona.

The game lasted for 5 hours, going from light to dark outside.

A blast was had by all.

Although, apparently because they found a combat-less way to kill the two big bads, the game, which would have lasted another two hours, wrapped up quickly.  So some Jackbox was had.

Followed by a stop by the Williams household to sing Happy Birthday to Audrey.

Madd Max Have A Last Panamanian Morning

 

Breakfast on the patio.

 

With exotic birds, rain and howler monkeys hollering.

 

Just a tree in the backyard.

And a last hammock hang.

 

And upon arrival at home, Aunt Rachel's book, Bat Island, had just gotten delivered! A little bit of Panama in Burbank.

But first, a relaxing morning on the patio.

He ready.

To get to the snorkeling beach, the fam walked thru the jungle.

Stunning beach.  One of the best parts was that you could snorkel around the island to end up on the beach directly below the rental house.

 

The only exception was that there was so much trash on the beach and in the first 20' feet of water.  It brought up very negative feelings about what humanity is doing to the planet.

This was a favorite cousin activity of the trip - watching all 4 of The Hunger Games movies.  Here they are in their room cave.

This is how Maddie rounded out the day; by staying in the ocean until the last bit of sun disappeared.

Madd Max Head To The Pearl Islands

 

It was a very early morning start to make the 7am ferry.  This bus has the fam's favorite ad for McDonald's - "Mas Big Tasty - Aahh!"

Maddie does not like an early morning wake up.

This view felt like the tropical version of Maine.

An hour after the fam made it on the ferry, the protests began again, cutting off access to said ferry.
