Madd Max Still Has Teefers And The Ring Light

Recently, Maddie started talking about when Sam took pix of her with the ring light.  She then decided it would be a good idea for Sam to take shots of her now that she has her adult teeth.  Sam agreed.
5 1/2 Years Ago.
 Today.
When Max heard about this, he wanted in on the action, even though his teeth remain the same.

Madd Max Dines At Alison's

With Brian and some sausage and peppers, homemade potato salad and coleslaw.
Maddie brought her own mac and cheese to enjoy with a nice red.
Sam remained in the living room riveted to the Canada vs. USA Olympic hockey game. Max was riveted by the carpet.

Madd Max Has Just One More Christmas

Just when you think it's all over, one more box arrives from Panama, home to Gwen Wren and fam, filled with present after present. Max loved the wrapping paper the best, followed by the tasty plastic insects - yummy. Maddie was partial to the "shooooes" and the porcupine puppet.

The Scrapper Has Teefers

Max has had these 2 ferocious teeth for about a month now, and it was time for some documentation with the 'ol ring flash (see it's last appearance here).
Opposite to his sister's response (see here), Max thought the attention, the camera, and the finger to lick were all awesome.

Madd Max Has A Family Valentine's Day

With some time at the park. Max tried out the swings for the first time, and enjoyed them.
Even though his sister got way better air.
Next came some tandem sliding. Max was indifferent; Maddie, thrilled.
Most exciting for Max, however, was practicing his walking. Now that he has realized that he can move himself, he no longer wants to sit down and will keep his back stiff if you try to make him.

Madd Max Goes To The LA Street Food Fest

And fails. With 2 hour lines to get in, we had to abort our plan, and look for other sustenance. We ended up at Johnny Rockets. And were sad.
For Maddie however, it was the perfect lunch. She rocked out to some fine tunes, had PB&J with french fries, milk with a straw and watched birds (pigeons) up close. Oh yeah.Max also found the bright side of the meal.
Which made Jess enjoy it more as well.
After the meal, we ran thru the streets of downtown, burning off the grease from earlier.

Madd Max Has A Busy Day Part III

After dinner at ELF's, a bath was in order - a super awesome bath because not only were there friends in it but there were also so many toys.
Then some matching dry time.

Madd Max Has A Busy Day Cont'd

At home something was happening on the living room floor.
After watching Mom feed a very excited Max food, Maddie has been desperate to get in on the action. A plum was her chance. They shared like this for half the plum.
Big sisters rock!
(Remember that - Uncle Ant, Greg, Wills and Sam.)

Madd Max Has A Busy Day

It began with fake Valentine's Day at Pre-Preschool. The kids had to walk around the circle and drop valentine's into the other kids bags. At first, Maddie protested as her valentines came with a lollipop, and she did not want to part with them. Then as she got into it, she began to enjoy putting them into bags. When she got back to her seat, she decided the fun should continue and took out all the valentines in her own bag, and placed them into Isabella's bag.
Next came baby gym class, which Maddie LOVES. This thing is up on a trampoline, which means climbing and then bouncing fun.
How Max spends baby gym class.

Madd Max Sits And Strolls

A first for these two, as up till now Max has been fully reclined in his section of the stroller. Maddie loved looking over at her bro, and her bro was interested in being able to see the world vs. facing up at orange vinyl.

Madd Max Super Bowls

Maddie had her first Superbowl Sunday at AK's - that's her in the purple - Annual Fiesta, and now it was time for Max to be introduced to the party.
As you can see, he was riveted by the game.
As was Maddie, if by game, you mean stickers or Doritos - the Doritos got a dance every time she picked up one.

Slappy Experiences Something New

At Señor Fish with Shanna, Edith, and Auntie Jamie.
It came from the hands of Auntie Jamie: her first lollipop. First, she tried to bite it, and then realized the pleasure that comes from rolling it around in your mouth. She also learned the pain of dropping it on the floor.

Madd Max Bounces

After a stop in Griffith Park for a DHH Game Day, it was time to bounce.
Over to Aidan's 7th Birthday Party. ELF and Maddie amazed their parents by loving the bounce house, even when it became filled with older kids. Both of them desperately wanted to spend the entire party in there, and would lean on the bounce house from the outside when it got too rowdy inside for them. For Jess, it was the first time that Maddie seemed like a little girl and not a toddler.
The bounce house became even more awesome when the Dads came in - that's Brian, Aidan's Dad, to the left and Aidan flying above him.
The taller ladies remained on the outside.
Inside, Aidan blew out the candles on this Super Mario cupcake cake made by Alison.

Madd Max Learns A New Game

After watching Emma do this a few times, Maddie came over to join as it was awesome. First, pick up 2 handfuls of sand.
Next, turn and dump them on the rubber ground. Repeat until bored.
Max Page, PI kept an eye on the rest of the park while the girls were otherwise engaged.
Back at home, an evening of couch time with Dad.

The Scrapper Babbles

Max figured out today how to make babble sounds, specifically "mamama" and "bababa." He practiced all day, thrilling Jess whenever the "mamama" came out, as Maddie has yet to call her mama. In an interesting turn of events, every time Jess praised Max for "mamama," Maddie would repeat it in the background. She stood her ground however when specifically asked to say it - her response being a smile and a "dada."

Madd Max Has A Toy Fort

Max had been playing on the floor with two toys, when Maddie walked over and gave him another. After being praised by Mom, she got excited, and brought him over TOYS. Clearly, Max was overcome by his sister's generosity, and distraught over the fact he could not reciprocate. (And she had squished his head with that last toy drop.)

The Scrapper Is Longer

At Max's 6-month check-up, he came in at:
Weight: 16lb. 0oz (25th percentile)
Height: 27 in. (55th percentile)
Head Circumference: 17.25cm (45th percentile)

He's getting long and lean, just like his sis (who cried whenever the doctor or nurses came near him, even though he did not).

Madd Max Has A Firsts Day

It began with Max's first solid food - oatmeal and breast milk. It blew his mind.
He got so excited that he grabbed onto Jess' hand with one hand and tried to grab the spoon with the other to keep it in his mouth. He also hummed after every bite.Eating is amazing. Then it was time for a Maddie first. After climbing out of her crib during nap 3 days in a row, it was time for a big girl bed, ie a conversion to her toddler bed. Sam and Jess were not sure if it would be a traumatic event to see your bed being torn apart, but brought Maddie in to see what was happening. She was fascinated and tried to get in on the action.
Once the bed was set up, her mind was blown. She climbed in and out over and over, laying down, standing up, clapping, repeat, repeat.
A big girl bed is amazing.
(Whenever Jess looks at this picture, she sees Taisie smiling away. For visual proof, look here.)
