A special treat after swimming lessons - the regular stop by the Findleys for dinner (which is halfway btwn home and lessons), where they find each other hilarious.

Slappy Sleeps On The Floor

For almost 2 months Maddie's room has been like this.  To get up to code, her drywall had to be ripped off for a new shear wall.  Then a window was broken.  While waiting for things to get fixed, she has been sleeping on the floor in the corner.

The Scrapper Goes Under

Despite Max's attempts to stalwart his lessons through "Can I tell you something..." and "My tummy tells me not to do head ups," he is learning some things.  Here he is being pushed to the bottom of the 6' deep section to retrieve a toy.

The Scrapper Has A Soccer Party

 His first "customer" as he called it - Chloe, who refers to Max as her boyfriend.

 Soccer - Max is in his birthday game jersey.

Madd Max Parties Like A 5 Year Old

First, at Emily's where her mom made a Barbie cake - the one cake Jess remembers her mom making for her.

Then it was over to Ellie's

 For some sparring with Dad.

 And some chocolate lipstick.

The Scrapper Plays Soccer

In his opinion,  finally.

And even in 90 degree heat, he insisted on wearing his Kings jersey.  At least for the first 10 minutes.

Slappy Is A Third Generation

Although the Taisie side is still strong in her.

Madd Max Makes Goody Bags

Now that he's 4, he took it very seriously.

Madd Max Take Mimi To The Local Pool

 Yes, that is the activity side of our local pool.  And that is Madd in the goggles.

 Max was trepidatious at first but Mimi convinced him in.

Madd Max Have A Swimming Lesson Update

 Lesson 7: Max makes a break thru - only mentions puking a few times and begins swimming.

Lesson 8: Max even gets his head up out of the water.

Maddie is fully capable of swimming underwater and can do somersaults.  She is still working on getting her head up while swimming.

Madd Max Take A Bike Ride

 Max's first bike ride on his big boy bike.

 Which took them to the Chandler bike path at the end of our block.

The Scrapper Likes His Hockey Skates

A gift from Sam.  This morning he woke up and walked to the table where he sat quietly, holding his skates.

Slappy Makes Spiderwebs

This can keep her entertained for hours.

The Scrapper Turns 4!

 And after a Ninja Turtle bed present, he opened his big boy birthday bike.

At school, some felt candles and birthday songs.

 The very important job of prepping the pizza party.

 Which Maddie was able to join in on.

 And a special guest.

The Scrapper Has A Play Date

With Evan - his hot and cold bestie.  They fight hard and they play hard.

And they only talk to each other very directly, faces only inches apart.

Maddie also got Aeryn along for the ride and the chicken dance.

The Scrapper Is All American

Catch, or as Max calls it, "The Throwing Game" with Dad.

Madd Max Head To Intense Swimming Lessons

A 10-in-a-row, 20-min each series, which boasts that they teach your kids to swim in that time.

Maddie took to it amazingly well (she desperately wants to swim like her friends), and appears to be en route to swimming without assistance.

Max's journey went like so:

Lesson 1: 15 min in, he pukes in the pool.

Lesson 2: He arrives terrified of puking in the pool.  Meets a boy whose mom says he puked last week, but is now swimming and loving it.  Max is suspicious and consistently says his tummy hurts.  Makes it thru and is very proud.

Lesson 3: Max arrives only a little nervous, but just in time to see the same boy puking on the side of the pool.  Full regression.

Lesson 4: One additional kid in the pool, who is so terrified she is screaming for her father to jump in the pool and save her because she is drowning.  Max does not progress.

By sending Mom and Dad to the wrap party.

Madd Max Has A First Sleepover

With Superhero ELF.

An evening pillow fort.

Complete with flashlights.

When the girls woke up in the morning, after getting to bed at 11 (with Jess staying in the room to chill them out), they both felt incredibly proud of themselves.  And the first question - can we have another sleepover?

Madd Max Still Loves Fireworks

Hey!  It's The Fourth of July!

Time for some patriotism.

Best displayed by an evening at the Williams where the local fireworks displays are more exciting and intimate than the city wide ones.
