As part of her schoolwork, Maddie needs to create a daily 15 minute challenge for herself.  Today she decided to try to teach her brother to play parts of "The Hanging Tree" on the piano.

Madd Max Wishes Great Aunt Lu A Happy Birthday

On a full family zoom call.  One of the highlights of the call besides seeing all the fam: to get better internet, Great Aunt Lu and Great Uncle Jeff had moved to the stairway of their home.  Upon their return to light candles on the cake, they found that in fact, there was no longer any cake as their dog, Pippa, had taken advantage of their leave and enjoyed it all for herself.

 Jess has been taking walks at night to get some exercise and tire herself out before bed.  It's calming and strange.

Along the way, people have been leaving out the excess fruit from their trees.  This house provided bags to carry the kumquats in.  Sam later turned them into a delicious cocktail.

Madd Max Has A Happy Easter

The scavenger hunt got even harder this year, this time taking the kids about 40 minutes to complete.

The actual answer to the clue was binoculars - not Jess' glasses.

Max has a love/hate relationship with every clue.  He enjoys the hunt, but gets frustrated quickly if it gets challenging.  It has been this way always.

 Followed by, the backyard Easter Egg Hunt.  Normally, the Findley Egg Hunt follows, but this time the kids stayed in pajamas all day and we all just talked about missing it.
