But first a picnic lunch with the Siegels.

Then Jess and Sam took off for an overnight date, leaving the kids to do Maddie's favorite thing with Taisie - projects. This one involved little wooden birds.

It all began after school.

Toby worked on his book in the kitchen, but even he got called into duty eventually.

And finally late last night, Toby and Taisie arrived.

Maddie was thrilled to be able to do "projects" with Taisie.

Who brought some masks to share.

Which led the girls to lay down and synchronize their movements.

But Jess did with Aunt Tara, Uncle Ant, Tio Greg, Aiden and Sonia.

But first a little lunch where Aiden showed off his chopstick skillz.

The fam got to stop in at Santiago Calatrava's office, ie Uncle Ant's work.

Where there were these funky door knobs.Then it was over to the zoo.And the children's zoo.

Sonia slept through it all like a champ.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Sam set up an industrious after school project for the kids.

Who also got a late Christmas present from the Page-Bethel clan.

These suitcases came with them to bed.

Jess went into Manhattan to have lunch with Francoise, meeting her at the OXO office.

Which has one of the coolest walls ever - the wall of lost gloves - each one with a "When I was Found" date.Then it was in to meet Sonia, who cooed and smiled, and spend some quality time with her mom and bro.She got cuddled by all.

Including Dad when he got home.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Maddie went through some of her goodie bag bootie.

And Max got in on the picture taking.

Slappy Makes The Rounds

At Big Max's party, where she played pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey/stick-the-nose-on-the-clown for the first time.

There were cupcakes, a pinata and a Cars bounce house.

Then it was over to Valentina's where there were cupcakes, a princess bounce house.

And a magician.Max went ice skating with Dad.Which was awesome, if a little scary when you are hanging on the wall by yourself.
