The kids got their very own table with no adults, and amazingly took the responsibility very seriously.

Uncle Bill gives an opening speech.

Aunt Lu reads a letter from Emmy, the Smyth matriarch, to her kids, Bill, Whit, Theo, Chris and Linda, while a slide show of family photos plays in the background. 

After the kids dinner, they opened activity gifts, which even more amazingly, kept all of the kids quiet for longer than seemed possible.  Enough so, that the parents kept looking in to make sure that was what was really happening.  Also note, the brownies being served on the floor.
