Madd Max Goes On A West Hollywood Food Tour

Another Mimi surprise was a food tour.

Max was clearly enthralled.

It started with an almond croissant at Michelina Boulangerie, followed by some tacos at Trejo's Tacos, Maddie's favorite.

A spring roll from Chao Krung.

A West Hollywood classic, Canter's deli.

Where they got, according to Max, "a hamburger with a lot of meat," aka, a pastrami sandwich.

Almost like Jersey kids.

There was a stop at the Farmers Market for what Max described as "something sweet and sticky with nuts on top," ie toffee.

And ice cream - Max's favorite.

She looks pretty happy too.

Madd Max Celebrates Graduation

Mimi took Jess' request to please spoil Maddie after graduation, seriously.  After a Shake Shack lunch, the kids and Mimi headed to a virtual reality game stop.

Dope.

Which was followed by a celebratory Granada's dinner with both Grandmothers.

Slappy Graduates Middle School

Our daughter.  Now almost a high schooler.  We are so proud of her accomplishments.

Jess had to miss graduation due to still working in Greece, but luckily Mimi was able to fly out, and with Taisie, Sam and Max, she had a full support crew.

Madd Max Has A Hydra Day Off

One of two for the month.  Thankfully, it was quite lovely.

Madd Max Has Just Another Day On DJ&TS

Ferry from Hydra to Pireaus in very windy weather.  About 10 people threw up before Jess put her ear buds in to drown out the noise.  The man in front of her alone threw up 4 times.  Jess dubbed it the vomit ferry.   Watch to the end with sound to get the full experience.

When Jess returned to hotel room in Athens, she found this.  That hole was not in the ceiling when she left.

The Scrapper Makes Honor Roll

A surprise to him and his parents at the Awards ceremony.  (He did feel he wanted a more specific recognition than the shared honor roll kudos).

Madd Max Stays On Hydra

Where things are not exactly the same as in the States.

This grouper arrived off a boat that the crew had watched fishing during appetizers.  It was ready to eat about 3 hours later after most of the cast and crew had left.

Which meant these cats got to enjoy it, courtesy of Jess who felt like the late night Pied Piper of cats, as they kept appearing out of every corner.

The sunsets do seem to consistently be different versions of this.

Slappy Gets Honored

At the 8th Grade Awards Ceremony.

Upon return, she was greeted at the door with confetti.

Look at all this!  California Junior Scholarship Program, President's Education Awards Program, Honor Roll AND LBMS Overall Achievement Award.  BAM!

First stop, the Acropolis where Jess and Jin got back to their theatrical roots at the Theatre of Dionysus.

When you can't move a historical church, but you really want your hotel right there.

The National Gardens.  With the National Turtles.

A coffee and work stop.

(Just to be clear - a lot of Athens looks like this).

But there was also dinner with this view.
