Madd Max Meet Pill Bugs

 The Croshaw/Starzyks came over for a playdate, and Edith introduced them to the world of bugs.

There are 2 roly-polys on that lid.  Biggest surprise of all - the water can of 10 bugs Jess found on the table when cleaning up right before bed.  To see an even more surprising bug - go here - those are Madd Max's cousins.

Madd Max Attend Fire Service Day

 Where the horse firefighters were out.

 As was Aurelia.  The kids managed to get in on the free lollipop and balloon game.

 

Max's highlight - sitting in the demo firetruck.

 Sam's highlight - watching the Jaws of Life demo, where they actually took the roof off the van.

 For lunch we headed to a local deli where the backroom was filled with animator's sketches.

Here she is channeling the Na'vi, or maybe Braveheart?  Jess could not get all the green paint off of her in the bath, so the next morning she went to school looking like she had applied green eyeshadow to celebrate Mother's Day.

Jess arrived home after work to a clean house, the kids at Chuck E Cheese, gifts on the table, dinner on the stove and a drink in the fridge.  That Sam knows how to throw an early Happy Mother's Day.

Jess' first since she was 13 - she found it a much less embarrassing and much more enjoyable experience this go round.

 Also present were Marissa, Elizabeth, Lilly, Bill, Elaine and Aeryn.

Elizabeth, inspired by the entire experience, had Max hand feed her lunch.
