Madd Max Enjoys The Late Afternoon And Evening

With a hike.

Through that parkland.

What a view.

Sweet.

Then some hot tub.

The adults made an adults only rule for 20 minutes which became 30.  It was lovely.

Then the little kids and later the big kids got a turn.

Making a fire.

A Findley dinner - two types of chili and some cornbread.

Cheese!

Some wine.

And some late night group hugs.

Madd Max Has A Relaxed Afternoon

Sleeping.

Some type of game playing?

More cuddling.

And a family recipe of vegetable chowder from Alex.

Madd Max Goes Inner Tubing

Inner tube prep.

 Walking up from the house.  It hadn't snowed in Big Bear for awhile, but in areas of shadow, there was enough snow to make stuff happen.

So much so, that this was Elizabeth's first run.

It didn't stop her.  Max had a similar outcome on his first run which ended up with him smacking heads with Jaymi.  He also got back up there awhile later with some trepidation.

After moving lower down the hill, the little kids were unstoppable - meeting Jaymi at the top and heading to the catchers below.

Caroline had the most speed, which would sometimes push Steve a good 8' backwards.

Marissa gives it a spin even with her still healing knee.

Buds.

The two, who took a bad tumble, take a ride down together.

The previous night, Max was heard saying to Elizabeth, "Let's go down to my parents room and we can do whatever we want."  In a few more years...

Madd Max Has A Big Bear Morning

Which started with a run to Kmart when it was discovered that the coffee maker was not working.

Bonding over drips.

Bonding over foods.

Little girls on the balcony.

 Big kids on the sofa.

The prep for the Williams breakfast the night before.

The breakfast - company eggs and hash browns.  Bacon provided by Alex.  

Madd Max Has A First Big Bear Evening

Giant game room sleepover.

Upstairs the games began, first with Awkward Family Photos.

Some people observed.

Others then jumped into Telestrations After Dark.

John made his family's popovers, but was displeased with the results.  Not to fear - he did remake them to his standards Saturday night.

The crew, however, was not displeased.

At around 2am the adults headed downstairs where Steve and Jess proceeded to giggle so long and so loud, they woke some of the kids up.

But not all.

Madd Max Arrives At Big Bear

Our house for the weekend - Big Bear Lake in the background and bordering parkland behind it.

The evening began with one of the favorite BigBear past times - food.  The Leonhardts took on dinner.

Friends.

Avery and Jaymi took on prepping some apps.

The kids staked out the downstairs - the big kids in one room.
