Madd Max Have A Sunday Big Bear Morning

 

As always, electronics on the couch until 10am.

 

Audrey walked the premises, looking for wildlife.  She found these horses.

 

Pickles for breakfast.

 

Baked eggs and french toast by Jess.  Bacon and breakfast potatoes by the MacKay/Feldmans.

Madd Max Rounds Out The Evening

The chili-off: Findley Chicken Chili, Findley 5-Meat Chili, and Williams Vegetarian Chili.

 

A little hockey.

 

A little nap - a Steve fav, knocking out in the mix of it all.

An explanation of the game of "Dude," which Eric brought along with a paired beverage, the white Russian.

 

After the kids saw a round, they also wanted in - on the game, not the white Russians.

 

And late evening popovers with hard sauce - a Madd Max favorite.

Madd Max Don't Have To Worry

There is more food coming.  Here, John preps popovers.

 

And Drew preps his chili.

 

Meanwhile, some pool continued to be played.

 

And Aarin, Erin and Jess enjoyed adult hot cocoas by the outdoor fire Steve made.

 

That's a pretty place to drink them.

 

 And enjoy lime jello, which was a surprise hit.

 

For almost all of the smaller set.

Madd Max Hike The Woodland Interpretive Trail

The hiking crew - Elizabeth, Steve, Maddie, Kathleen, Jess, Eric and Caroline (and Jess).

Which was great for climbing.

 

There was even snow on some of the trail, and also a lot of mud.

 

And because it's LA, it got warm enough to be in a tank top.  In the snow.

Upon returning home, the crew were met with fried black radish and carrots.

 

And a veggie chowder by Alex.

 

Along with sandwich fixin's by the Williams.
