Slappy Does Manhattan

She was given the choice of driving into the city by car or taking the bus and the subway.  She requested, "the full city experience," which apparently means public transportation.

Morning commute.

Jess was super excited to show her the Metropolitan Museum of Art - her favorite of the NYC museums.  It turned out, they are closed on Wednesdays.

They decided to walk thru Central Park to the Museum of Natural History instead.  This is Jess' favorite hall.

At the specific scene where Dozee would jump scare young Jess.

A newer addition - this really cool library.

Maddie in that library.

T-Rex!  Maddie wanted to see all of the floors of the museum, so the two sped walked all of them.

Next, followed lunch in Central Park.

And a stop at Rockefeller Center.

Meanwhile, Max was one of two people ice skating, not at Rockefeller but at American Dreams as Dozee observed.

Midtown Comics - the last place on the tour.  Mimi had brought Maddie here before and she had been in heaven, it becoming one of her bucket list of places to visit again.

Back in Jersey, where a Mimi dinner waited for them.

Madd Max Goes To Seaside Heights

The boys were super into the games where you win stuff, especially the coin pusher games.

 

Driving for all ages.

 

Then it was over to the beach, where the boys tossed a hacky sack, and it was a bit windy (see Mimi in the lower right).

 

Also, a little cold.

 

The sand was the only thing that was warm.

 

And sandcastles were built.

 

These birds were very interested in the people/food.

 

Aiden joined a pickup game of baseball.

Madd Max Goes On A Big Bus Tour Of Lower Manhattan

 

The ladies were all very excited about it.  Max was meh.  Aiden was much less than meh.

 

This girl loves Times Square.

 

This girl loves her Dad's building (the Oculus).

 

This girl loves hitting the trees that the bus went under, and in fact, this boy actually enjoyed the ride as well (listening to the audio the entire).

Madd Max Heads To Leonia

Stairs, never not a novelty to LA kids.

Clara had some birthday presents waiting for her.

Which she showed to Chase.

Who is super cute.

The weather was a perfect 80 degrees, which meant an outdoor lunch was enjoyed.

Next, a walk down to the Leonia Swim Club aka Municipal Pool.  Aiden enjoyed a roll rather then a walk.

It was the first day the pool was open for the season.  Clara romped in the baby pool.

Madd enjoyed the diving board.

The pool temp was 68 degrees, so a break and snack was needed.  Ice cream was the chosen snack.

Along with fries.  Clara liked the fries; she did not like the shivering or as she called it "shaking".

And finally, a viewing of the movie Dungeons and Dragons - Honor Among Thieves.
