Madd Max Has A Last Taste Of Chicago

Some Chicago dogs.
Very pickle forward.
Everyone stayed on the rooftop until it was time for Jess to head to the airport.  What an incredible weekend.

Madd Max Searches For The Calatrava Hole

As part of the tour, the fam searched for Ant's mark on Chicago.  It's behind this fence.
After some searching for what would never be Ant Uncle's "The Chicago Spire," the crew eventually found The Hole, the start and ulmately end of that building.
Lookit that hole!
Next, it was onto the beach.
Lake Michigan.
A pretty place to bike.

Madd Heads Out On A Bike Tour

First, a morning Skype with Dozee and Mimi.
Grabbing the rental bikes.  Chicago is well set up for biking with bike lanes everywhere and numerous places to pick up and drop off rental bikes.
We headed into Downtown from Bucktown.
And landed at the Chicago River.
Pretty and way less green then Jess had seen it last time.
Taking a break by the side.
The Apple Store building was floor to ceiling 360 glass.  Neat.
More Chicago spring.  Chicago was bringing it this weekend.

Madd Max Has Some Chicago Food

Whiskey milkshakes (apparently adult milkshakes are a big thing here), burgers and fries.  Also, Malort, which was pretty not great.
Sis-in-laws.
A quick stop at home to pick up Charlie.
All of which prepped Ant Uncle for a Dozee style nap, which also turned out to be not so comfy.
So the fam headed to the rooftop, where the napping was more comfy.
And they stayed until way after dinner.
Which was also had on the rooftop.  Pretty perfect.

Madd Max Heads To The 606

It was time to start following the plan for the weekend - originally planned for Uncle Wills, Uncle Ant and Aunt Ally, now modified for two more.
Uncle Wills and Aunt Ally's block.
Spring was in full bloom, the lilacs reminding everyone of Mimi.
The 606 - an elevated walking and bike path.
More lilacs, also bringing to mind Marissa and Steve's wedding.
A stop at the Pilot Project, a local micro brewery.
Where the train passed by regularly, which was cool.
More exploring of Milwaukee Ave.

Madd Max Takes Chicago

First morning in Chicago, heading to get some coffee.
Uncle Wills shows off his air frying skillz.
Chicago delivered some stunning weather, perfect for chatting on the rooftop deck.
Lovely.
Happy.
Maddie was having some serious FOMO, and requested at least some photos.  She got a FaceTime.
Her response.

Madd Max Heads To Chicago

Jess gets ready to fly after a year and a half.
Where she was picked up by Tio Greg, and cried with relief upon seeing him.
Earlier that evening, Uncle Ant had been picked up by Uncle Wills, and they made a stop for ramen.  Tio Greg was waiting in the parking lot, much to Uncle Wills' surprise.
Later that night, Tio Greg announced he was headed out on a Poke walk and would seem them all tomorrow.  He then appeared back at the house an hour later with Jess.
Sibs back together after a year and a half.
It feels phenomenal.

Slappy Makes A List

With two weeks of no plans ahead of her, "Things to do During a Sucky Summer" was critical.

Madd Max Meets River

Celebratory dinner with the newest member of the fam, being held by proud dad, Spencer.
Mom, Meghan, was more then happy to share the little guy with the fam.  Taisie got her turn, and Jess held him throughout dinner.
Grandparents Great Uncle Jeff and Great Aunt Lulu got some time in as well.  It was amazing.

Madd Max Hangs With Imani

A little video game playing in the backyard, which brought great joy.  Also, one of these guys has hit a growth spurt.

Madd Max Has Saturday Activities

Taking after her Mimi, Maddie loves a good Farmers Market.
Jess and Max also headed out for a bike and snack stop, just like the old times.
