At the 5th Grade Promotion (Graduation) ceremony.  She is 2nd row from the top, 2nd person from the right.

When the fam arrived to watch her, Taisie noticed an asterisk next to her name.

Which signified that she had won a Presidential Academic Excellence Award.

This award is given out to kids who have a 3.5 GPA and either have met a state test standard or have a letter of recommendation from a teacher or principal.

Her pin, which was also accompanied by a certificate signed by Trump and Devos, (bringing groans from the audience), led Maddie to later ask with her little liberal heart, "Are we going to throw it away?"

Taisie brought Maddie a graduation gift, and then took her out for lunch and an afternoon of fun to celebrate.
