Madd Max Celebrates Thirteen Years

 Sam made an anniversary dinner based off of the menu at our wedding.  That great day, we had cedar plank salmon and tri-tip with a side of pasta.

For the fish - Sam made a spicy tuna on crispy rice, followed by a brussel sprouts and blue cheese pasta with pan-seared steak.

Wine from the Santa Ynez Valley in a glass from the vineyard we got married at.

One of the two best things to come out of that day - enjoying the fruits, or rather little eggs, from Sam's trip to Little Tokyo to get sushi grade ahi.

By proxy.  It was actually Auntie Jamie and Jess who took it - the theme being Argentinian food.

Madd Max Has A Heat Wave

So hot.

Until the fam has a more elegant solution, Sam has been hanging a tarp over the back windows in the afternoon to help cool the house.  This makes Jess claustrophobic.  He improvised a new solution.

Madd Max Has A Happy Father's Day

Maddie helped Jess make Eggs Benedict for Sam by cutting the muffin in half.

After a day of watching movies, the evening rounded out with some Thai food and gaming playing - Clue and some Jenga.

At around 8:30 the ruckus from the left side of the house virtually stopped, causing concern. It turned out the kids were just playing Pokemon very nicely.  Which meant the adults chatted for another hour.  Wins all around.

Otherwise known as the donut cart arriving on set. This does not do the slow parade of people heading towards the cart justice - there were at least 3 more behind the men you see.

Slappy Has A Mommy Maddie Day

 First, down to San Diego for the Microtia/Atresia Picnic where there was a magician.  Maddie also took the trip very seriously, letting different parents look at and touch her ear as they gathered information for their own children.  Jess was very proud.

 Then there was a stop at Zoomars for an hour and 15 minutes of guinea pig petting.

And a dinner at a Mexican restaurant, where Jess and Maddie chatted the entire time.  A very fun day for both.

Jess was at work and got this picture from Sam with the note #DateNight.

At the Findleys, where Max and Fiona had a little poolside chat and snack.
