And a first visit from Santa at Toddler Tales in the library. Maddie was unimpressed, and showed no interest in meeting Santa, perhaps because she had no idea who he was.
In the early afternoon, we got a great surprise. Sam had gotten off of work early and we were able to head out to pick our tree up from the local YMCA lot... Which is right by the local Sewage Treatment Plant... The effect of which is a lovely mix of pine and poo.
And we set it up at home using the old tree stand from 7 years ago - the last time Sam and Jess had a tree in LA.

Hurray-the tree's up and it's gorgeous!
Sam the christmas tree mechanic. Good thing you didn't take the "shop" that tree stand would have cost $150
Like the photo of Sam under the tree. I think I would be laughing if I was there.
The only thing worse than a Christmas tree stand is a string of tiny Christmas lights wired in series. Mimi says that Christmas is here when she hears the Banging of the Stand and the Cursing of the Lights.
The Dzedo
That's great! Don't you just love the smell of pine
To Dzedo, do you have one of these? http://www.amazon.com/Lightkeeper-Pro-Christmas-Holiday-squeeze/dp/B002NV9V3Q So worth it.
